Recharged: Weekend Recap

Monday, November 21, 2011

Happy Monday, friends! Yes, I said it, happy Monday. It's always nice to start the week off knowing it's only a half-week of work and the holidays are inching closer and closer. Even better when said holidays will be spent with a baby for the first time!

This past weekend, our little family enjoyed much-needed restful, yet fun time together. Friday night was pretty lowkey, as was our Saturday afternoon. We spent hours and hours and hours napping and movie-watching and it was glorious. Finally, when the evening rolled around, we went out to eat here. The weather was fantastic, so we sat outside and enjoyed live guitar with our steak fajitas and margaritas. Next, we defied Lily's usual 8 p.m. bedtime and ventured here, a cozy little cafe/coffeeshop/wine bar in our neighborhood to read and indulge in some German chocolate cake.

Sunday, we slept in a bit (sleeping til 9 is sleeping in in our place) and relaxed for much of the morning. Then we decided to pack a picnic and head to the park to grill some burgers and let Hudson play a little.

Sadly, after we arrived at the park and Carl loaded the grill with charcoal, we were alerted that there is a burn ban in effect. Boo.

(sad faces for the burn ban)
We stuck around for a bit and Carl took a spin around the park and Lily sat and looked cute.

Then we went to grab some BBQ. On the way home, we passed a driving range and Carl decided he wanted to hit some golf balls. So we did.

**interesting note: I had never been on a driving range, or even held a real golf club before last night! (Tennis was my fam's sport of choice growing up). So Carl taught me how--then knocked my flats off by flexing his impressive golf muscle. We've been together for years and I never knew he could hit a golf ball like he does! And he owns a golf glove? Who knew!

  1. I just found your blog through Ohdeardrea...what a beautiful family you have! I love Lily, I love her name too...so sweet. Oh I like how you, being so young, didnt have a problem to go along with your husband's "I have to do the driving range" :) My husband is, has and will be for ever a serious golfer and different from you it took me years to feel at ease with his...I "have to" do the driving range" You are very sweet and smart. I will keep reading it more.
