Weekly Gratitude: Edition 8

Thursday, October 6, 2011

I can't believe how quickly this week has gone by. Today marked Lily's 15th week of life and I'm having a hard time believing that my tiny baby girl is going to be four months old soon. Will definitely be doing a four month update in the next few days.

Okay, let's get to it. This week, I'm most grateful for...
  • our health. For the past few days, Lily has been struggling with nasal congestion again, and we've had some long nights. Overall though, Lily is a very healthy, happy little baby and I thank God for that. One of my childhood friends recently revealed that her husband has been diagnosed with testicular cancer. They're such a young couple with an adorable little daughter, and the thought of what they must be dealing with breaks my heart, and makes me realize how easy it is to take good health for granted. Dori, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
  • Natalie's generosity. I know I thanked her in my previous post, but I really am so thankful to Natalie and the time she spent working on our blog (for free!). She recently had her second son, and I know a time-consuming project like blog design isn't easy with a newborn around.
  • the weekend. This one in particular. We're packing up the CR-V and heading to New Orleans! Yes, Carl, Lily, me and even Hudson are heading to Louisiana to spend a long weekend touring cemeteries, eating crawfish, hunting for vampires, bed&breakfasting, etc. Can't wait!

  1. Did you have ettouffee? (I always misspell that, sorry.) Basically the only reason I even go to New Orleans is to eat. Oh, and shop. :D

  2. Alexis, we didn't get to try etouffee, but we did have A TON of yummy food, like boudins, crawfish, Creole barbequed shrimp, jambalaya, even New Orleans-style pizza. Ah-mazing!
