The Littlest Poe...t

Friday, September 16, 2011

Yesterday, Lily attended her first-ever poetry reading. So naturally, she dressed for the occasion.

(doesn't this edgar allan poe onesie just kill you?)

I know I've mentioned graduate school on this blog, but I don't know if I've ever mentioned that I'm a English Literature and Language major. Well, I am, and last night, Carl, Lily and I attended a poetry reading hosted by the director of my program. Despite arriving a little late (navigating a campus undergoing construction with a stroller is a bit tricky), we really enjoyed listening to poet Margaret Randall and especially loved introducing Lily to my professors and classmates. They loved her.

lily with dr. langston. it was love at first sight.
all this lit stuff is old hat for lily, who sat through dr. langston's teaching writing and critical thinking in-utero last semester!

After the reading, Carl treated us (really, this place is a treat) to a fantastic meal at Dough, this amazing pizza place that bakes their pies in this insane oven flown in from Sicily, or something like that. The conversation, the company...it was heaven.

Happy Friday, everyone.
