An Open Love Note

To Our Little Daughter,

With only days left until we meet you, time has started to inch by, and you can't arrive quickly enough. It seems that we have been preparing for your arrival our whole lives, growing into the people that we are now, making the mistakes and learning the lessons it took to bring us together as a little unit and finally, welcome you into the world.

I have spent these past nine months daydreaming about your every feature, the pitch of your laughs and cries and the image of you coiled on your daddy's chest, drawing sweet baby breaths that make up the only sound in the room.

You're being born into a warm home, a nurturing family, a life filled with love and light and color. I look forward to loving you and learning from you, my sweet girl. Take the time you need to prepare yourself, because when you finally arrive, you've got quite the adventure ahead of you.

All my love,
Your mama

  1. Isn't it weird to think, if you REALLY think about it, how different we are compared to any other moment in our lives? It makes me wonder what kind of people we'll be when we are older.

  2. This is so sweet. Found you on spearmintbaby. Your baby bumps pics are great!

  3. Lovely my beautiful Cass! I cannot wait to meet my precious Grandbaby and welcome her into our world... xoxo-UR Mama.

  4. Just found your blog and love it. I share a lot of the same feelings and beliefs as your family regarding labor and birth. I live in Kansas and will be laboring at home as long as possible with our doula, until we go to a freestanding birth center to have our daughter. Our due date was last Tuesday, the 14th, and we are trying to stay patient and calm as we wait. When is your due date?

  5. Hi Sara! Thank you for your kind words. I wish you the best luck in your labor; I hear having a doula present is a great decision and I'm sure the birth center will be a positive experience, as well. Wow! The 14th?! Your little one will be here any minute! I'm sure your family is abuzz with anticipation. Our daughter isn't due until the 29th, so technically we've still got a week and half to go until I can start complaining, haha. Good luck again, and please keep me updated on your birth and your beautiful daughter.

Thank you for visiting! I love receiving comments and try my very best to respond to each of them.
